‘Loons’ appoint New Director

Tuesday, 08 May 2018 21:13

Forfar Athletic have made an addition to their Board of Directors with the appointment of local architect Paul Stephen.

Paul a partner with James F. Stephen Architects based at Glamis with special responsibilities within their Stirling Office and in fact a former Vice President of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland has been a supporter of the Station Park club for many years and of course the family ‘firm’ have been major sponsors of the club for many a day.

Paul have served his Station Park ‘apprenticeship’ in a number of roles including being a mine host for the match sponsorship package and more recently through his involvement in the Football Fans in Training Programme, liasing with the Football Trust and being part of a group who have been looking into setting up a Charity Community Trust within the club structure.

Paul was also heavily involved alongside former Chairman Neill Wilson in the building management side of the new Hospitality Complex in the summer of 2014.

Away from work, Paul is married to his New Zealand born wife Jo and they have two children Mackenzie and Holly, both already keen Forfar fans, Mackenzie in particular being a regular with father and grandfather Fred at Station Park on match days.

Apart from family holidays with New Zealand not surprisingly a favourite destination, Paul’s main hobby has always been football and he is a longstanding member of the Scotland Supporters Club having followed the national team to a variety of interesting and diverse places.

Paul is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to join the Board at Station Park and new Chairman Ross Graham was equally delighted when he accepted his invitation over this past weekend.

Ross and his fellow board members are also certain that Paul will prove a great acquisition at this level for the Athies moving forward and all are eagerly looking forward to working alongside him at this exciting time hopefully for the club.
