The ‘Loons’ continued their pre-season goal scoring spree against the East of Scotland League outfit managed by former Station Park favourite David Bingham at Pennypitt Park in Prestonpanns last night.
Goals from Chris Templeman and Charlie King gave the visitors a 2-1 half time lead. That apart the visitors also hit the woodwork on four occasions.
Second half substitute Gavin Swankie added a brace, his second a blistering strike from 20 yards out to bring his goal scoring tally in the three friendlies to date to six. King scored the fourth goal.
Manager Dick Campbell, who was a little disappointed in the manner that his charges lost both goals, make five second half substitutions in total.
After a closed door fixture in the Capital City on Thursday night, the Station Park side continue their preparations for the July 28th kick-off with a trip to Highland League Huntly on Saturday.
Forfar Athletic continued their pre-season fixtures with a 7-2 victory over Highland League Cove Rangers at Allan Park on Saturday. The ‘Loons’ lead 2-1 at half time with Kevin Motion and Gavin Swankie the first period marksmen. Swankie went on to complete his hat-trick in the second half, trialist Mick Dunlop and youngster Duncan Reid with a brace the other marksmen. The only disappointing feature of the game watched by an excellent travelling support was an injury sustained by Martyn Fotheringham during the warm-up which saw him unable to take his place in the original starting eleven.
The ‘Loons’ next fixture is on Tuesday evening away to East of Scotland League side Preston Athletic.
