Summary
The ‘Loons’ will make a quick return to competitive action on Tuesday night in the KDM Trophy following their disappointing 3-0 defeat against Clyde on Saturday past.

The Athies could have no complaints about the end result on the day, the ‘Bully Wee’ having the upper hand for long periods of the game.

Our visitors on Tuesday, Formartine United, recorded a 4-1 victory on home turf at Pitmedden against Keith at the weekend.

Stuart Anderson’s side, who finished third in the Breedon Highland League table last season, currently occupy fifth place this term following seven rounds of fixtures.

Following their poor first half showing against the ‘Dons’ youngsters in their previous group stage KDM tie, Jim Weir and his players will be keen to pick up all three points from Tuesday night’s clash, especially with on-paper tough ties to come against Peterhead and Ross County on match days four and six respectively.    On the evidence of recent games against Highland League opponents, this will be no easy task, however.
