APOLOGY

First and foremost all connected with Forfar Athletic are disappointed to be waking up this morning with their side out of the Scottish Cup at the third round stage, allied to our current precarious league position.
However, there were signs of better times potentially ahead in what was an undoubtedly improved performance at the C&G Systems Stadium yesterday in comparison to some recent matches.
Club officials would also like to thank all those who travelled either on the Supporters Coach provided free of charge by the club or by other means to support Stuart on his managerial debut and the players.
However, club officials are also extremely disappointed to have been put in a position that they feel it a necessity to offer an APOLOGY to many on that supporter's coach for the disturbing behaviour of a section of the younger element of our support on the journey to Dumbarton.
By all accounts despite warnings issued from those in charge and from some of the more mature members of the travelling group, the behaviour level was just not acceptable, has no part in the principals of the club and rest assured will not be tolerated.
The fact that some of this element also attempted to bring alcohol on to the coach which was confiscated, is exceptionally disturbing as warnings on this score were clearly given in print and otherwise in the run-up the game.
A few should count themselves lucky in this respect that they were not asked to leave the coach in mid-journey and find their own way home!
In conclusion, the Directors of Forfar Athletic FC would like to apologise to the supporters again who had their journey disrupted by the situation that evolved yesterday, at the same time thanking those in charge of the coach who have, I am sure, all our sympathy for being put in this position.
This loutish behaviour is not to be welcomed at Station Park in any form and we re-iterate it will not be tolerated by the club, who will continue to attempt to foster a family feel about watching the ‘Loons’ in action home or away.
