Well, the ‘Loons’ fans certainly headed home from the Parkgrove Stadium @ Station Park in fine fettle at 5p.m. on Saturday afternoon following an emphatic 3-0 win over Stirling Albion which kept our unbeaten run to date in the William Hill League2 intact.
A big pat on the back to the management team and the players following this encouraging start to the season.
Thanks also to the home support at yesterday’s game who gave their usual excellent backing to the side. Numbers were a wee bit down on what one would hope, but there were a lot of other attractions on in the area on Saturday and holiday commitments are still taking their toll.
Our match sponsors yesterday were those great supporters of the ‘Loons’ cause, Fred and Rosemary Stephen, and all connected with the club would wish to thank them for their continued support in this manner.
Fred celebrated a milestone birthday during the close season, so belated best wishes and ‘lang may yer lum reek.’

Three parties enjoyed the delights of the Station Park Hospitality Experience on the day, thanks yet again to Alan and Ian Davie of Alan Davie Transport for their backing in this manner, the first of no doubt a few visits as the season moves along.
Darren Douglas and his mates were once again welcome guests, as were Nick Markowski and his party. Nick himself was a ball boy at Station Park back in the Archie Knox era and is now a well-known solicitor in the area.
Thanks to all for their most welcome support and ‘haste ye back.’
As far as league action goes, two successive away games are now on the horizon.
New Douglas Park in Hamilton is the destination on Saturday first for a clash with Clyde, while it is off to the Capital City the following weekend to face Edinburgh City. A reminder that the game at Meadowbank has been brought forward to Friday the 28th of the month with a 7.45 p.m. kick-off.
Stranraer are then the visitors to the ‘toonie’ on the first Saturday in September.
