The ‘Loons’ head back to the Capital City on Saturday first on match day seven in the William Hill League2 campaign to meet a Spartans side who defeated Stirling Albion 2-0 at Forthbank on Saturday past courtesy of two counters in the final twenty minutes of the contest.
On the back of that result the Edinburgh outfit moved into the top four in the league table at this early stage of the season, one point ahead of the ‘Loons.’
Both sides were also in action on Tuesday evening in the KDM Evolution Trophy.
While The Spartans were losing 4-0 at home to Hamilton Accies, the Athies rescued a point in dreadful overhead conditions up in the Granite City against Banks O’Dee with a goal in added on time from Martin Rennie.
The Spartans had the upper hand in fixtures between the two sides last term, winning two of the four league games, the other two matches ending in a share of the spoils.
