Forfar Athletic v Edinburgh City – Match Information
[Wednesday, 05 February 2025 16:14]

The heavy rainfall in the south west of the country on Tuesday thwarted the ‘Loons’ in their attempt to build upon their excellent second half showing at Peterhead on Saturday past. The clash at Stair Park with Stranraer was called off due to the saturated playing surface following a 2pm. inspection, just as the Forfar team coach reached its second pick up point on the outskirts of Perth.
The attention of the Athies management and players now turns to our only scheduled home fixture during the month of February on Saturday first, Edinburgh City the opponents in the William Hill League2.
The ‘Citizens’ have been one of the surprise packets of the season to date sitting as they do in a comfortable fourth position in the league table under the management of Michael McIndoe, having been many pundits favourites back in the summer months to finish nearer the bottom end of the table come May month. They have recorded two victories over the ‘Loons’ to date this season, the score lines 3-0 at Forfar in August, 2-0 in the Capital City in November.
Home supporters will get their first opportunity to see recent acquisitions Declan Byrne and Rueben McAllister in action following their debuts during the second half at Balmoor. Following three draws and three defeats in their last half dozen league outings, those same supporters will also be hoping for a much needed three points, though that will be no easy task against a visiting side who were in fine goal scoring form this past weekend.
The match on Saturday will have the usual 3pm. kick-off.
