Board / Directors
Scott Murdie - Chairman
Scott joined the board of directors in June 2015 after being involved behind the scenes in previous years.
Responsibilities now include pitchside advertising, and fundraising as well as the license holder for the club. Scott lives in Forfar with his partner Lesley who is also heavily involved with the club.
Away from Station Park Scott enjoys cycling, and travelling to different cities to enjoy their cultures and sights.
In September 202, Scott took over the role of Chairman replacing Ross Graham.
Paul Stephen - Vice Chairman / Director
Paul is a Chartered Architect and Partner with the Glamis-based firm, James F Stephen Architects, and has worked on and completed a diverse range of projects, including the Station Park hospitality suite! Paul is a past president of the Stirling Society of Architects, a former vice-president of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, is an Architectural Professional Examiner, and an accredited Adjudicator, having completed a post-graduate LLM in Construction Law a few years ago.
At Station Park, Paul coordinates FAFC’s Football Fans in Training Programme, liaises with the SPFL Trust, enjoys helping out with the match-day hospitality, and has been looking at how the Club could establish a charitable community trust to aid community engagement and diversify this aspect of the Club’s activities.
Away from work and football, Paul is married with two children, who can also be found at Station Park on a regular basis. Whenever possible, Paul enjoys spending time with the family and the variety of activities and sports that the children are interested in.
When not at Station Park, Paul is a longstanding member of the Scotland Supporters Club and has travelled to a variety of interesting and diverse places to follow the national team – more in hope than expectation!
Paul has recently been appointed in the role of joint vice-chairman along with fellow director Paul Wilson.
Robin Beattie - Company Secretary / Director
Robin is a Partner with local law firm Thorntons Solicitors, a firm with which he has spent his entire legal career – having first joined their ranks as a trainee Solicitor back in 2009. Based predominately from their offices at East High Street, Forfar, Robin also has special responsibilities heading up their litigation offering across their Angus branch network, often to be seen at the firm’s offices in Arbroath and Montrose in addition. Thorntons Solicitors, who are members of the Forfar Athletic Business Club, have of course been sponsors and friends of Forfar Athletic for a number of years and this is a relationship that Robin is confident will continue for many years to come.
Robin is no stranger to the Station Park boardroom, in fact having served as our Company Secretary since the beginning of 2023 with his debut in that role coming at the AGM back in February.
Outside of work, Robin is kept right by his wife Orla, a native of County Clare, Ireland. They have two children, their daughter Lily (3) and son Cameron (1), both of whom Robin hopes will become fans of the Loons in years to come.
Raymond Hutt - Treasurer / Director
Raymond joined the Board of Directors in May 2014 and is responsible for all things financial at the club. He is a Certified Chartered Accountant and a Partner with James Hair & Co. CA in Cupar, Fife.
Raymond is married to Alison and they have a daughter and a son and live in Ceres, Fife where Raymond is a member of the Ceres Highland Games Committee and also on the board of Ceres & District Community Trust.
Raymond's association with Forfar Athletic Football Club comes through his uncle, Billy Bennett, who played for the club from 1978 to 1989 and Raymond has kept an eye on their results ever since. Raymond was an official mascot at Billy's testimonial against Dundee United way back in 1983!
Raymond is an avid football and motor racing fan and also enjoys the odd round of golf at Ladybank GC where he is a member.
Alan Shepherd - Match Secretary / Director
Alan joined the board of Forfar Athletic Football Club in January 2011. Alan is married to Rhona and lives and works in Aberdeen; employed in the banking industry.
Alan has been involved behind the scenes at Station Park for a number of years. He started selling programmes, selling 50/50 tickets and has been an active member of the Supporters Club where he reached the position of vice-chairman.
On match days Alan can be seen helping to organise and work with hospitality guests.
Alan enjoys the family atmosphere at Station Park and hopes to carry on the present and past, board members are committed to ensuring a successful football club in Forfar for years to come.
John Milne - Director
Lifelong ‘Loons’ supporter John Milne accepted the invitation to join the Board at Station Park in early September 2020.
John who lives in the town with his wife and family has served his ‘apprenticeship’ without a doubt at the club.
A regular host in the hospitality complex in recent years, John has also been very active in the organisation of the Cycle fundraisers that the club has run in recent years, the latest of which, now almost completed is likely to see funds boosted by a much needed £3,000.
John has also been a mainstay on the committee set up earlier this year to run the recently launched Loons Lucky Lotto.
A Financial Planner in everyday life, based pre-Covid mainly in the Granite City, John becomes a Director of his hometown club at a very interesting time for all concerned as we attempt to get the 2020/21 season underway in testing circumstances.
Martin Gray - Groundsman / Kit Supervisor
Sponsor: Mark Wallis
Sponsor: Available
Martin is the club's only full-time employee, and he certainly lives up to his full-time status!
From keeping the Station Park surface in pristine condition to preparing the kit, and clambering on top of the enclosure in all weathers to retrieve errant balls – Martin is one of the club's most valuable assets.
A product of the Club’s non-playing youth team (i.e. a Ballboy!), Martin started helping the kitman clean the player's boots in addition to his ballboy duties. Having learnt his trade as a groundsman over the last 20 years or so, Martin has a groundkeeper qualification from Dundee College.
