Elgin City v Forfar Athletic – Match Information
[Wednesday, 05 March 2025 23:50]

Following on from last night’s excellent victory down at Stranraer, the ‘Loons’ are off on their travels again on Saturday first when they head up the A96 to meet Elgin City.
The three games to date between the sides have been close run affairs, City triumphing 2-1 at Boroughbriggs in November, the two games at the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park ending in 1-1 draws.
While the Athies have picked up seven welcome points from three away fixtures in recent times, Elgin have in fact lost their last four league games, only one of which to be fair has taken place in Morayshire.
It will also be a return to ‘weel kent’ pastures for both Jim Weir and Gavin Price both of whom have held Manager and Assistant Manager roles at Elgin.
The ‘Loons’ management and players as has been mentioned were delighted that a few supporters made the 360 mile round trip to Stair Park last night, their numbers augmented to over twenty by the presence of board members and club officials. Hopefully a few more will make the trek north at the weekend.
Admission prices at Boroughbriggs are as follows;-
Stand – Adults £18 – concessions £12
Ground – Adults £16 – concessions £10
Under 16’s are admitted foc is accompanied by a paying adult.
Admission to the stand is by ticket only, available via Fanbase, see the Elgin City website for full details. Tickets can also be purchased in advance via Fanbase for the ground, however a pay at the turnstile facility on match day is also available.
The match at Elgin marks the beginning of perhaps one of the most important final quarters of a league season in the ‘Loons’ history. After the trip to Boroughbriggs, the final eight games in the William Hill League2 for Jim Weir and his squad will consist of three further away trips and five games on home ‘soil’.
