Forfar Athletic v The Spartans – Match Information
[Tuesday, 11 March 2025 20:20]

The ‘Loons’ return to the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park on Saturday first to play the first of five remaining home fixtures in the William Hill League2.
Remarkably thanks to four excellent performances on the road which have secured ten points, Stuart Morrison and his fellow players have over that period allied to results elsewhere closed a points gap of similar proportion and lifted themselves off the bottom of the league table, albeit at present only on goal difference.
Rest assured however no one within the ‘camp’ is any doubt that there are still eight so very vital fixtures ahead to ensure the club’s immediate future lies in the SPFL.
Saturday’s visitors from the Capital City have a midweek trip to Elgin on the cards before they head for Angus, Dougie Samuel’s side still targeting a play-off spot. It will be the fifth meeting between the sides to date this season, the last encounter at Ainslie Park only two weeks back ending in a hard fought 1-1 draw.
Jim Weir and his squad have been thrilled by the level of backing the club have had away from home over the past few weeks, but to be fair the same has to be said of the home faithful who have had a renewed lease of life since the new regime arrived in mid November, despite the mixed bag of performances and results.
Hopefully those same supporters will turnout once again in reasonable numbers this Saturday as the home side attempt to continue their climb up the league ‘ladder.’
The match on Saturday will have the usual 3pm. kick-off.
