Forfar Athletic v Stranraer - Match Information
[Tuesday, 06 January 2026 23:35]
With the KDM Evolution Trophy tie with Queens Park put on the ‘back burner’ till Tuesday the 13th of the month courtesy of the wintry weather, the focus is now fully on the visit of Stranraer to the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park on Saturday first on match day twenty in the William Hill League2.
The ‘Loons’ go into the game with four points having been accrued from our two festive Saturday fixtures, the excellent home performance against Elgin City being followed up by the reward of a hard won point away to Clyde this past weekend. Both results were also achieved with starting line-ups decimated by injury and suspensions, making them all the more commendable.
This Saturday’s contest gives Jim Weir and his players the opportunity to move into a top four place in the table with a victory over visitors who are currently the form team in the league, having recorded three wins and three draws in their last six outings. They currently following a 1-1 draw at home to Edinburgh City this past weekend occupy that coveted fourth spot, one point clear of the Athies.
Hopefully as has been the case on many an occasion in recent times, the pristine 4G playing surface will survive the current weather conditions with at the moment, fingers crossed, the forecast for Saturday in the Angus area dry and bright!
The match on Saturday will have the usual 3pm. kick-off.
