PREMIER SPORTS CUP

Forfar Athletic commence their competitive campaign on Saturday first when they travel to Ochilview to meet last season’s SPFL League1 champions Stenhousemuir on the opening day of the Premier Sports Cup group fixtures.

The ‘Loons’ full programme of four matches in Group ‘E’ of the tournament fondly remembered as the Scottish League Cup by many are;-

Saturday July 11th – Stenhousemuir (away)

Tuesday July 14th – Partick Thistle (home)

Tuesday July 21st – Livingston (away)

Saturday July 25th – Brechin City (home)

As has been the case in recent times only the winner of each of the eight groups is guaranteed participation in the first knock out stage of the competition when the five clubs competing in European club competitions this season namely, Celtic, Hearts, Rangers, Motherwell and Hibernian enter the fray.

Back to our own group where the Athies were the fourth seeds in the draw and as regards admission prices, Brechin City, Partick Thistle and Stenhousemuir have basically agreed similar admission prices for their home fixtures, Livingston still to confirm what their policy will be.

Looking ahead therefore to the visit of Partick Thistle to the Parkgrove Stadium @ Station Park next Tuesdayadmission prices will be as follows;

Adults £15

Concessions (65 & over/ 16-18 year olds) £10

Under 16’s who must be accompanied by a paying adult £5

Forfar Athletic season tickets are NOT valid for this fixture.
