The club’s Development team recorded their fourth victory on the bounce with a 4-1 success over a young Cowdenbeath side at Station Park last night.
In saying that the coaching team would not have been impressed by an insipid first half showing which saw the teams turn around at the break with the game goalless.
They would have been even less impressed when visiting striker Jack Cowan slipped the ball under the returning Grant Adam in the 49th minute to give the Fifers the lead.
The home side rallied however and duly scored four times in the closing half hour of the contest.
Matthew Aitken bundled the ball home from close range in the 62nd minute following along throw in from the right to level matters, before Sam Clark put the ‘Loons’ in front with a screamer of a strike from the edge of the box on the 70 minute mark.
Michael Kennedy then blasted home a free-kick from the edge of the box in the 75th minute, prior to Matty Aitken netting his seventh goal of the season at this level from the penalty spot in the dying embers of the contest.
There is more Development League East action at Station Park next Tuesday when Berwick Rangers are the visitors, the kick-off on this occasion 7.45p.m.
