Home Defeat for Development Side

The ‘Loons’ Development team ended up on the wrong side of a 5-1 score line against SPFL Development League East league leaders Raith Rovers at Station Park last night.
Although underfoot conditions were near perfect, the match was played in ‘Baltic’ temperatures and it was all credit to the hardy band of parents and supporters who braved the elements and survived the ninety minutes.
Rovers took the lead in the 11th minute with a 15 yard strike from Yaw Osei, Sam Clark rifling the ball home from 12 yards out eight minutes later to equalise for the home outfit.
Two close range counters from Lewis McCann and Jonathan Court saw Raith head in at the break 3-1 up.
Within two minutes of the re-start Court netted number four for the visitors with a 20 yard strike.
The home side then lost goalkeeper Jacob Otto to a leg injury and with no sub keeper on the bench, Joe Johnson went between the sticks and was only beaten once in the last half hour of the contest by a looping Osei header in the 72nd minute.
Forfar’s youngsters have a home friendly fixed up for Tuesday evening of next week when Dundee will provide the opposition.
