Sportsman's Dinner
[Sunday, 19 May 2013 15:59]
Over 270 patrons thoroughly enjoyed the club’s 18th Annual Sportsman’s Dinner in the Reid Hall on Friday night.
Dick Campbell was in fine fettle as compere keeping excellent order throughout.
The three speakers, Fred Eyre, Phil Differ and impressionist Paul Reid who had risen from his sick bed to make it along were all excellent in their different ways and received well merited applause from the appreciative audience.
The raffle and the auction were both superbly supported and as ever it is hoped that once the sums are done, a figure in excess of £10k will have been raised for club funds.
A great night indeed and thanks to all who helped with preparations on the day, those who assisted on the night and also the companies and individuals who supported the event by donations and to the raffle and auction.
Most of all though a big thank you to all who came along on the night. At a time when events such as these are struggling to maintain numbers, our own Dinner seems to go from strength to strength.
A date for your diary – Friday May 16th, 2014. Yes the hall is already booked for number nineteen!
