Let There Be Light Update

After all of the necessary negotiations on price and the planning application process, the installation of the upgraded floodlight system at the Park is due to commence.
The current system had come to the end of its working life due to the difficulty in obtaining spares, the cost of the power to run the system, and new electrical safety legislation. The much increased community use of the Park throughout the dark winter months left the Board with little option but to explore the possibility of obtaining the funds required. This was successfully achieved resulting in the new system being made ready for the new season.
The new system will utilise the four current towers on top of the far side enclosure where new lights will be fitted. On the stand side the two towers on top of the stand will be removed as will be the two free standing towers at pitch side. These four towers will be replaced by larger towers and lights placed behind the stand side corner flag areas.
These new lights will meet all of the League requirements and also not require expensive back up for televised games should they occur. The following pictures should be the last time that fans will see the old system.
