Water A Plastic Pitch ?????

Most fans would think that when we have laid a top of the range 3G artificial pitch, the days of running sprinklers would be long gone. This however is not the case as the new pitch suppliers do advise watering the park during lengthy dry weather spells. Also we have listened to the players who have recognised that the ball reacts better when the pitch is damp. However at the Park over the years we know only too well that the water pressure is quite low, resulting in difficulties running an adequate sprinkler system. At times sprinklers would have to be run for many hours and continually moved to water the grass. It was felt that another system was required to give a quick fix should a long dry period ever occur.
Step forward The Forfar Athletic Patented Artificial Pitch Automated Moisture Application Bowser System ! Fully designed and manufactured onsite by our Directors of Engineering and funded by the scrap value of our old kit van and some parts donated by local businesses. It is not envisaged that with the weather we have that it will be require too often, but it is ready to go whenever it is needed. The next project is a rain water collection system which is currently at the planning stage.
Pictures show the system in operation during extensive field trials.
