Berwick Rangers v Forfar Athletic
[Thursday, 18 July 2013 16:42]
The ‘Loons’ will head south on Saturday for their last pre-season friendly with Berwick Rangers providing the opposition at Shielfield Park with a 3 pm kick off.
Dick Campbell is likely to look to start this fixture with a line up that will be similar to what he currently has in mind for the opening competitive fixture against East Fife in the Ramsdens Cup on the 27th of the month.
This could possibly mean no place for Michael Dunlop and Iain Campbell who both miss the game with the Fifers through suspension.
Iain last season’s Supporters and Player’s Player of the year put pen to paper on a new one year deal prior to Tuesday night’s match with Falkirk.
His brother Ross has also agreed a deal for what will be his sixth season at the club.
Ross and Gavin Malin will return to the squad for Saturday’s friendly following their involvement in the World University Games in Russia.
Ross whose everyday job is within the High Performance Sports Department at Heriot Watt University was part of the coaching team for the Great Britain football side at the games while Gavin was a member of the British side who dramatically lost out in extra time in Tuesday night’s final to France in Kazan.
The ‘Loons’ will likely come up against a familiar face in the Berwick ranks on Saturday, Stephen Tulloch having joined the Borderers after his six year stay at Station Park came to an end in May.
