[Monday, 07 October 2013 09:47]
Nineteen teams participated in a football quiz night at Forfar Indoor Sports on Friday night of last week, the latest in the club’s fund raising ventures.
All concerned had a great night out and the money raised from the entry fees, raffle and a small auction, around the £1,900 mark will be utilised to bolster the youth team funds at the club.
In a keenly contested affair the team from Graham Environmental Services in Blairgowrie came out on top, three points ahead of the Brechin City Directors team spearheaded by Gus the ‘anorak’ Fairlie. However to be fair to Chairman Ken Ferguson and his colleagues, they ‘put to bed’ on the night the notion that football club officials don’t know anything about the game.
At the other end of the scale the team from James F. Stephen Architects without Professor Fred in their ranks it has to be said picked up the booby prize.
Congratulations however to Ross Graham and his team who vowed to be back next time to defend their title.
A pat on the back to Alastair Donald, Barry Sellars, Barry Quinn and Jonathan Smith who were the main organisers of the event.
Forfar Indoor Sports Managing Director Mike Ferguson and his staff’s efforts also added to the ambience and success of the evening.
