End of Year Player Update
[Tuesday, 31 December 2013 11:00]
With the transfer registration window due to open at midnight, it is an opportune moment to update supporters on the player scenario at Station Park.
All connected with the club were firstly delighted with the news late last week that Dale Hilson had agreed to extend his stay for the remainder of the season. Sadly for Dale himself, it would appear that he is down the ‘pecking order’ at Tannadice at present due to the explosive group of young talent available to the United management team, but there is no doubt he has been an integral part of Dick Campbell’s line up this term.
Jamie McCluskey’s short term contract with the club is due to come to an end this week and he has been offered an extension to the end of the season. He has promised Dick an answer within 48 hours.
Defender Michael Dunlop has been allowed to stay at Berwick Rangers on loan where he is a regular in Ian Little’s side, while Bryan Deasley whose contract with the ‘Loons’ is due to expire on January 2nd is being released. He goes with the best wishes of all at Station Park and looks certain to pen a deal with Montrose where he has been on loan in recent months.
Finally Keith Gibson’s temporary transfer to Tayport Juniors has been extended till the end of January as he continues to battle back to full match fitness.
