The ‘Loons’ long serving treasurer and a vital cog in the club’s administration team Gordon Menmuir announced to his fellow board members on Monday evening that he wishes to stand down from the post.
Gordon took over the financial reins at the club in early 1995 and perhaps not surprisingly feels that he is now needing a break and a chance to spend more time with his grandchildren and reducing his golf handicap.
Alastair Donald the fourth Chairman that Gordon has worked with in his time in the post paid tribute to Gordon’s tremendous record of service to the club at Monday night’s board meeting and freely admitted that his will not be easy ‘shoes to fill.’
Gordon will carry on in the post for a few months to facilitate the change, but the hunt begins for a successor.
