SPFL League One 2014/15 - Our Opposition Confirmed

Following Sunday’s play-off final second legs, the composition of the SPFL League One next season has been confirmed with three ‘new faces’ in the ranks and certainly with Arbroath and now East Fife disappearing from the scene, a little more travelling involved over the course of the 2014/15 campaign.
The ‘Loons’ will still have four mouth watering local derbies against our friends from Glebe Park, however only two visits to Fife next term, with Dunfermline Athletic following their demise against Cowdenbeath on Sunday the only team from the ‘kingdom’ left in Scotland’s third tier.
No doubt the East End Park club will be remaining full time and in all probability firm favourites from the offwith the ‘bookies’ for top spot come May of next year.
The central belt will provide Stenhousemuir and promoted Stirling Albion as opponents, while fairly lengthy trips will have to be undertaken to Morton, Ayr United and Stranraer.
The Cappielow outfit are also likely to remain full-time in the hope of a quick return to the Championship, while Airdrieonians under Gary Bollan will be keen to continue the fine form displayed in the second half of the 2013/14 season.
Runaway winners of league two Peterhead complete what look’s likely to be yet again a very competitive division with no easy games and there is no doubt Dick and his coaching team will be working hard within our means and budget to put together a squad fit for the task ahead with league fixtures due to commence on August 9th.
