Derek Young signs two year contract

Former Scotland Under 21 cap Derek Young tonight signed a two year contract with the ‘Loons’. The Glasgow born 34 year old midfielder who began his senior career with Aberdeen with whom he has spent ten seasons over two spells at Pittodrie, was an integral part of a successful Queen of the South side over the past two seasons.
He has also worn the colours of Dunfermline Athletic, St. Johnstone, Partick Thistle and Morton as well as a spell in Icelandic football.
Derek whose older brother Darren has just taken over the managerial reins at Albion Rovers lives in the Aberdeen area and was delighted to join up with Dick Campbell’s squad for the first pre-season training session this evening.
