Forfar Athletic manager Dick Campbell could not hide his delight this evening when Dale Hilson signed a one year contract with the Station Park club.
The former Dundee United striker who has made over 100 appearances in four loan spells with the ‘Loons’ had hoped to remain full time within the game following his release by the Tannadice outfit at the end of May.
However that did not come about and the Stirling based 21 year old, who was almost the unanimous choice of supporters as their Player of the Year last term, despite a couple of excellent offers from part –time outfits in the Championship and League One has decided to return to Forfar.
Following on the signings of Danny Denholm and Derek Young this is another great boost for the campaign ahead.
Dick still hopes to bring in a couple of other new faces prior to the opening cup tie joust with East Fife in three weeks time and a handful of trialists are likely to be given an opportunity to impress in pre-season fixtures beginning with a closed doors game in Edinburgh on Saturday morning against Preston Athletic.
