MATCH PREVIEW: Forfar Athletic v Inverurie Loco Works
[Monday, 07 July 2014 10:28]
The ‘Loons’ begin their pre-season campaign in earnest with a visit from Highland League Inverurie Loco Works on Tuesday night.
The Aberdeenshire outfit finished second in the Highland League last term, edging out Nairn County on goal difference for that particularly vital spot which brings with it exemption until round three of the season’s William Hill Scottish Cup. They were however 20 points adrift of runaway champions Brora Rangers.
The home side will go into the game without the injured duo of Mark Baxter and Martyn Fotheringham, while a couple of others will be missing due to holiday commitments.
As ever at this time a few trialists will be on show with Dick Campbell still keen to add a couple of players to his squad prior to the commencement of competitive football on the 26th of the month.
These will include a defender and midfield player, both of whom impressed in the closed door clash in Edinburgh on Saturday past.
The game has a 7.45 pm kick-off.
Admission charges are £5 for adults and £3 concessions.
Season ticket holder should utilise voucher one.
Season tickets will be on sale prior to kick off from the Secretary’s Office while replicas of the new first choice kit for the season ahead will be available from the Loons Direct shop within the ground.
