MATCH PREVIEW: Forfar Athletic v Dundee United
[Tuesday, 15 July 2014 12:52]
The ‘Loons’ will undoubtedly face their stiffest pre-season test to date when they face Dundee United at Station Park on Wednesday night with a 7.30 pm kick-off.
United are expected to bring a team mainly from their extensive first team squad, even though the game is sandwiched in between trips to Ireland and Holland and may well be the first chance for many Tannadice fans to see their summer signings including the most recent Jaroslaw Fojut in action.
Dick Campbell whose side are unbeaten in pre-season fixtures to date is boosted by the fact that Mark Baxter, Martyn Fotheringham and Derek Young all took part in a full training session prior to Monday night’s fixture with Cove and will return to the squad for the visit from Jackie McNamara’s side.
The manager is also hopeful of having another new face in his squad by kick-off time, while a couple of the trialists who have featured to date are expected to be given another run at some time in the contest.
The game is certain to be a challenge for the home side whose competitive season begins on Saturday week with the Petrofac Challenge cup tie away to East Fife.
Admission charges on Wednesday are £10 for adults, £5 for 65 & overs and under 17’s.
Forfar Athletic season ticket holders should utilise voucher 4.
An apology in advance to supporters of both sides for a slight inconvenience on the night.
Due to on going and slightly delayed construction work with regard to the new hospitality unit at the ground, the normal access from the large west terracing to the north terracing in front of the stand is not available.
Therefore to access the refreshment kiosk at the ground from the west terracing it will be necessary to go right round the ground through the south enclosure.
It is not possible to open the second kiosk adjacent to the west terracing either, as it is currently being utilised as a store for furniture etc from the old hospitality unit.
