MATCH PREVIEW: Arbroath v Forfar Athletic
[Friday, 18 July 2014 09:10]
The ‘Loons’ make the short trip to Gayfield on Saturday for their final pre-season fixture.
They will travel in good heart following to date a fairly impressive set of results and more importantly performances, especially against a strong Dundee United X1 on Wednesday past.
Martyn Fotheringham and Gavin Malin who picked up a first half knock in the United fixture are Dick Campbell’s only injury doubts.
Trialists Aaron James from Edinburgh City and Andrew Steeves released by St. Johnstone have impressed to date and have been offered one year deals. They are expected to put pen to paper prior to Saturday’s contest and will be in the pool.
Manager Dick Campbell also hopes to complete the capture of another of his major close-season targets over the weekend and the player concerned could feature at Gayfield.
Arbroath now under the stewardship of Alan Moore and Todd Lumsden who only took over the reins three weeks back are very much ‘work in progress’ and no doubt will as has been the case in all their pre-season games to date have a few trialists in their ranks.
The match kicks off at 3p.m.
