Forfar Athletic and Brechin City will contest a first round Forfarshire Cup tie at Station Park on Thursday evening with a 7.45p.m. kick-off.
As previously intimated all seven member clubs of the local association made a pledge at the recent AGM to compete in and complete the 2014/15 tournament within the season and the ‘Loons’ and their Glebe Park neighbours have set the tone with both due to without a game over the coming weekend.
Home manager Dick Campbell is likely to give all those players not in last Saturday’s starting line up a chance of ninety minutes valuable game time. This will mean starting berths in all probability for Ross Salmon between the sticks, Gavin Malin, Martyn Fotheringham, James Dale, Andrew Steeves, Craig Smith, Liam Keiller and Paul McLellan.
Latest signing Jim Paterson will also feature from the start, although the game is likely to come to quickly for the injured Aaron James and Chris Templeman.
Brechin will also no doubt field a similarly experimental line up with according to the local press Leighton McIntosh the former Dundee striker likely to feature as one of two trialists permitted.
Reduced admission charges of £5 for adults, £3 concessions will be levied.
Forfar Athletic season ticket holders should utilise voucher 7.
The 1984 Lounge, entrance adjacent to the west end of the main stand will be open from 7p.m. until kick off time to accommodate supporters who may wish to avail themselves of a pre-match refreshment. It will not be open at half time or after the final whistle on this occasion.
