The Final Hurdle
[Sunday, 26 April 2015 13:10]
Forfar Athletic’s players bounced back from the disappointment of the defeat at Peterhead with a superb victory at Dunfermline yesterday to set up a final day ‘nail biting’ end to the league campaign when Ayr United are the visitors to Station Park on Saturday first.
Morton with their superior goal difference will go into their home game against Peterhead as favourites for the title, but there have been many a twist and turn over the course of the campaign and who knows, another may be around the corner on ‘Helicopter Saturday.’
Remember too that Stranraer, who visit Brechin, are most certainly not out of the equation.
With Ayr still fighting for their lives at the other end of the table, Station Park may well house it’s biggest crowd of the season on Saturday and certainly the efforts of the home players especially over the last couple of months deserve and merit a substantial backing from the terraces.
At this juncture one has to mention the support at Dunfermline yesterday afternoon.
Only one word for it – ‘Superb.’
An astonishing turnout of over 300 ‘Loons’ fans raised the roof with their vocal backing and rest assured it was commented on and most certainly appreciated by the players and management team.
Thanks to you all.
Should we have to continue our battle for elevation to the second tier of Scottish football through the play-off route, there has been an amendment to the schedule of those ties due to BBC Alba coverage.
