New Director's Announced…
Forfar Athletic are delighted to announce two local businessmen to the board. Scott Murdie and Barry Quinn were both recently co-opted onto the board.
Club Chairman Alastair Donald expressed his delight that both gentleman had accepted his offer and looks forward to working closely with them.
Scott Murdie -
Scott was brought up on the family farm in Angus, and has been in involved in agriculture in one way or another all his working life. Scott lives in Forfar with his partner Lesley, and together they manage their own business. Over the last few years he has become a very keen supporter and follower of Forfar Athletic to both home and away games.
Out-with work and football Scott enjoys travelling to visit other countries.
Scott will be dealing with the Players Pot scheme, along with the pitch-side advertising boards.
Barry Quinn -
Having started his career in the armed forces, Barry has spent the last 15 years working in the UK and overseas, primarily in the oil and gas sector for major oil, exploration and drilling companies. Barry established his own Forfar based company "Quinn Safety Consultancy" in 2012 to assist all industries and businesses with his range of services, solutions and training.
Barry has extensive experience in youth football development, he joined Forfar Boys FC in 2006, and has served as coach, manager and child welfare officer before taking the reins as Chairman in 2012 until June 2015. He was instrumental in introducing a range of measures to ensure the club is one of the best organised, attended and respected youth clubs in the east of Scotland.
He is a keen golfer and has raised significant funds for local charities by organising golf events since 2010 across Scotland, he has also helped Ken Stewart with the Forfar Athletic golf day since 2013.
Barry has been visiting Station Park since 1984, he lives in Forfar and is proud father to Ben and Blair who are also avid supporters of Forfar Athletic and keen footballers themselves.
