Gavin Swankie signs two year contract extension
Forfar Athletic officials were delighted to announce prior to kick-off in yesterday’s friendly against East Stirling that club captain Gavin Swankie had committed himself to the club until the end of the 2017/18 season.
Gavin who joined the ‘Loons’ in the summer of 2012 from his hometown club Arbroath still had a year of his current contract to run, but he has now signed a further two year extension.
In his three seasons with the club, Gavin has shown a great level of consistency and to date has made 115 starting competitive appearances, as well as three from the bench.
He has also notched forty goals in that period.
Manager Dick Campbell who continues his quest to add to his current pool ahead of the Petrofac Cup tie on Saturday week is thrilled to have his talisman skipper on board for the next three campaigns and who knows perhaps beyond.
