Development side impress at Alloa

‘Loons’ coach Barry Sellars was a very happy and satisfied man at Alloa on Monday night when a youthful Athies side triumphed 4-2 over the ‘Wasps’ with an impressive performance in an SPFL Development League East clash.

Craig Smith netted the opener for the visitors in the 12th minute, Paul Carrick netting an equaliser seven minutes before the half-time whistle.

Within two minutes of the re-start, Dayle Robertson restored Forfar’s one goal advantage.

Kerr Hay then added a third in the 71st minute, before Smith was again on the score sheet nine minutes later.

Iain Flannigan netted a consolation counter from the penalty spot for the homesters in the 85th minute of the contest.

Berwick Rangers are the visitors to Station Park on Tuesday evening of next week, the kick-off 8p.m.
