Archie Knox who in his spell as Player-Manager of the ‘Loons’ from 1976 to 1980 brought ten of the players returning to Station Park for a reunion at this Saturday’s cup tie to the club has confirmed that despite still slightly recovering from recent back surgery, he will also be making the trip to Station Park on the day.
Alex Rae who followed Archie as Player-Manager is also hoping to make it along.
This would mean that there would also be four former managers of the club present in the company.
There has been a fair bit of conjecture about the number of appearances the group of returning players have made in total for the club.
Well if a reputable football statistics website is to be believed, the exact figure is a staggering 3,638 plus 268 substitute appearances in competitive fixtures, with 470 goals netted.
