A Day To Remember

The Directors of Forfar Athletic Football Club would like to put on record their thanks to the Management, Staff and Players for their amazing effort, commitment and skill levels over the past ten days in four play-off fixtures which culminated in yesterday’s 5-1 victory at the Balmoor Stadium to signal the club’s return to the third tier of Scottish football.

The response from all involved following ‘heartbreak’ Saturday two weeks back has been outstanding.

A huge pat on the back as well to the supporters who have stuck by their side throughout a roller coaster season and have travelled in such large numbers in recent times firstly to Cowdenbeath and to Peterhead yesterday,

From the off at Balmoor, it almost felt like a home game for the ‘Loons’ as the support estimated at around the 350 mark got right behind the players and thankfully for once they were rewarded with a five star display.

The scenes at the end will live long in the memory of all those who were there and the welcome that the players received on their return to Station Park in the evening was also much appreciated.

Challenging times still lie ahead and perhaps after a wee break for 24 hours to savour the success, it will be back to business by Monday morning as preparations begin for a new campaign with pre-season training due to resume on June 17th.
