Forfar Athletic Board Changes
[Thursday, 14 September 2017 21:54]
The Club wish to announce two changes to the Board of Directors of Forfar Athletic F.C.
Director and Vice Chairman Dennis Fenton has, following recent ill health, decided to resign from the Board with immediate effect. This will include the Chairmanship of The Station Park Experience which oversees the letting of the Community pitch. Dennis will, however, be winding down some of his involvement and will continue to run the Loons Lottery for the current season and complete some outstanding remedial work which he has already commenced within the ground. Dennis during his nine years on the Board, and a number of years before that, has been involved under the Chairmanship of Neill Wilson, Alastair Donald and latterly Ken Stewart, in the installation of renewed ground toilet facilities, the 3G pitch installation, the upgrading of the floodlights, the new hospitality complex, modern dug-outs and latterly the successful Loons shop.
Ken Stewart along with the rest of the board would like to put on public record their sincere thanks to Dennis for his valued contribution over the past nine years. Chairman Ken Stewart said ‘Dennis has been a tremendous worker in and around the club over many years and has been involved in and overseen virtually every project with the many improvements on view having had Dennis’ stamp on it. He could be found at Station Park virtually every day and his input to the Board not to mention his sense of humour will be missed. We wish Dennis a long and happy ‘second’ retirement and look forward to seeing him in his usual place on the terracing at our home matches.’
Current director, Ross Graham, will take over the Vice-Chair role also with immediate effect. Ross joined the board in May 2016 and since then he has taken an active role in many activities in and around the club including the successful Wall of Fame project and this season has taken over the Board level responsibility for the Development team. Chairman, Ken Stewart, said ‘Ross has brought to the Board the experience of running a sizeable family business for over 20 years, is President of the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce and has a lifetime of involvement within football playing to a senior level in and around the area. I look forward to working with him and to his contribution towards the long term health and success of the club’
