Twenty three year old Gary Fraser who spent the last four
seasons with Partick Thistle and who can operate in midfield or in a defensive
role has become Jim weir’s sixth close season capture.
Glasgow based Gary was a
product of the Celtic youth system before signing for Hamilton Accies at the
start of the 2011/12 season, making his first team debut for the Lanarkshire club when only a couple of months past his 17th birthday.
He moved south of the
border for a spell in 2013 with Bolton Wanderers before returning north to
Firhill in 2014.
Despite missing the whole of season 2016/17 with a horrific
knee injury, Gary still made 52 starting appearances for the ‘Jags’ as well as
six from the subs bench.
He had a short spell towards the end of the 2017/18
season on an emergency loan to Morton, prior to being one of a ‘clutch’ of
players released by Thistle following their relegation from the Premiership.
The ‘Loons’ manager was delighted to beat off a handful of other clubs who had
shown interest in Gary by securing him on an initial one year deal.
