Everyone around the world has heard of the three tenors but as far as the ‘Loons’ annual Sporstman’s Dinner is concerned this season it is the three John’s that will be taking centre stage.
The event is scheduled for the usual Reid Hall venue on Friday, May 17th with the main guest former Celtic legend and holder of over fifty caps for Wales John Hartson.
John now a television pundit on BT Sport and on SC4 in his native Wales, his Welsh-speaking roots bearing fruit on the latter.
John began his career at Luton Town and went on to wear the colours of six other senior clubs in his career.
Away from the football field, his battle against cancer and also his gambling addiction has also hit the headlines and there is little doubt that John now based in Edinburgh will have a great story to tell.
He will be joined on the night by retired West of Scotland policeman John McKelvie one of the most experienced speakers on the circuit in Scotland who amazingly made his first and to date only appearance at the Dinner away back in 2001.
Completing the trio of entertainers will be another new face at the event John O’Neill who hails from the Lothians. John is now a well known and much in demand act as a comedian/raconteur at Dinners throughout the land, his style of delivery likened to that of his comedic idol, the late great Chic Murray.
Those on the mailing list for this event will receive full detail, booking form etc as usual early in the New Year.
