Twenty two year old defender Michael Kennedy has moved on from Station Park following his transfer to Perth based Jeanfield Swifts now members of the East of Scotland League set up.
Michael joined the ‘Loons’ from Fair City Boys in 2014 on an amateur registration following in the footsteps of his grandfather Jim and burst into the first team at the end of the 2014/15 season when he played in both the semi finals and final of the Championship Play-Offs.
To be fair injury has plagued his career at Station Park and in fact a knee injury sustained in the Scottish Cup defeat at Formartine in November of 2017 ruled him out for almost a year.
Since regaining fitness, Michael has been short of first team opportunities at Station Park and felt a move to the ambitious Perth outfit who moved away from the junior ranks last close season was in his best interest.
In total he made 35 starting appearances for the Athies, with a further eight from the subs bench.
He most certainly leaves Station Park with the best wishes of all for his future in the game.
