Forfar Athletic can tonight confirm that 31-year-old striker Andy Jackson has become their first new signing in advance of the 2019-20 campaign.
Andy had a short spell with the ‘Loons’ back in 2006 making thirteen appearances on loan at the time from St. Johnstone, netting five goals.
Falkirk born and still based there to this day, Andy had a seven-year stint with the Saints from 2004 making over seventy first team appearances for the McDiarmid Park outfit.
During his time in Perth, he also had loan spells with Cowdenbeath and Arbroath.
He then spent the 2011/12 season with Morton before joining our near neighbours Brechin City.
In the ensuing seven seasons, he made over two hundred appearances for City netting sixty-seven goals.
Following City’s relegation a couple of weeks back Andy decided to look for a new challenge and Jim Weir was quick to enter initially into discussions with the player, prior to securing his signature on a two-year contract.
It is, therefore, a case of welcome back to Station Park as far as Andy is concerned.
He will join up with his new colleagues when pre-season training commences on June 20th.
