We can confirm this morning that over the past 24 hours Jim Weir has added another two new faces to his squad for the new campaign.
27-year-old midfielder Jordan Kirkpatrick who wore the colours last season of Alloa Athletic in the Championship and 31-year-old defender Mark Docherty who spent the campaign just completed in the colours of East Fife are the latest additions.
Jordan began his senior career in 2008 with Hamilton Accies spending four years at New Douglas Park, this period also including a fourteen game spell on loan with Brechin City.
After a short stint with Airdrie, Jordan then had a three-year spell with Dumbarton before moving to Alloa in the summer of 2016.
A year later it was off to St. Mirren following in the footsteps of his manager a the time Jack Ross before it was back to the Indodrill Stadium originally on loan before signing for Jim Goodwin’s side on a permanent basis in January of this year.
In that time Jordan has made a near two hundred competitive appearances for the various clubs, netting thirty-two goals from his midfield berth.
Mark’s senior career began back in 2005 with St. Mirren, his three-year stay in Paisley including a loan spell at Links Park. From there it has been on to Stirling Albion, Brechin City, Annan Athletic, Alloa Athletic on a couple of occasions, Stranraer and Dumbarton before pitching up at the New Bayview in 2017.
During that time his career appearances have totalled just past the three hundred mark and Jim Weir obviously sees the Bellshill based defender as a player who can add valuable experience to the ‘Loons’ back line in the season ahead.
Jordan has put pen to paper on a one year contract, while Mark has committed to a two-year deal.
