‘Curtain’ closes on January Window
[Friday, 31 January 2020 23:47]
Last night at midnight saw the closure of the January registration window.
It has certainly been the busiest ever mid-season window for Forfar Athletic since FIFA introduced the crackpot idea to include clubs at our level some years back.
Six new faces have arrived at Station Park, while eight players including Mark Docherty at the ‘eleventh’ hour have departed since the turn of the year.
To refresh supporters memories the ins and outs over the month have been as follows;-
Arrivals
Bobby Barr from East Stirlingshire
Bernard (BJ) Coll from East Kilbride
Steve Doris from Arbroath
Robbie Leitch on loan from Falkirk
Ryan Shanley on loan from Hibernian
George Stanger on loan from Hamilton Accies
Departures
Sean Burns to Stenhousemuir
Ross Forbes to Dumbarton
Andy Jackson to Brechin City
Dale Hilson to Arbroath
Mark Docherty - contract cancelled by mutual consent last night
Rory Currie returned to parent club Hearts
Russell McLean returned to parent club Montrose
Archie MacPhee returned to parent club Formartine United
Of course, any player not registered with a club at midnight last night and there will be a few can still be signed by a new club up to 31st March.
‘Loons’ manager Stuart Malcolm also has the option up to February 29th of bringing in one more player on loan from a Scottish club, the full quota being four, under a special dispensation agreement for Ladbrokes League One & Two clubs introduced last season for the first time by the SPFL and the SFA.
