Forfar Athletic manager Gary Irvine is delighted to confirm today that following discussions with Dundee’s management team, defender Sam Fisher has returned to Station Park on a temporary transfer until the end of the season.
Due to potential player shortage due to illness and injury, the Dens Park club recalled Sam on the eve of their scheduled fixture with St, Mirren last weekend.
The gale force winds that hit Tayside saw that match postponed on Saturday lunchtime and following the acquisition of a few players prior to the closure of the transfer window for Premiership outfits on Monday evening, James McPake has allowed Sam to continue his football education for the meantime at Station Park.
The ‘Loons’ can also confirm the arrival on loan till May of 18 year old midfielder Steven Warnock from Kilmarnock.
Steven joins his team mate at Rugby Park Tomas Brindley at Station Park for the remainder of the campaign.
Like Tomas the Ayrshire born player impressed for the Athies in a recent closed door friendly fixture.
Steven made his first team debut for ‘Killie’ in a League Cup tie against Dunfermline Athletic last season and was rewarded with a new two year contract in June of 2021.
Both players will of course be in the Forfar Athletic squad for Saturday’s home fixture against Albion Rovers.
