Of The Loons
Forfar Athletic officials have had to review the situation with regard to admittance pre-match in particular at Station Park to the 1984 Lounge facility.
Throughout this season we have seen footfall pre-match increase considerably within the lounge which as all areaware is a fairly small facility with seating for just over 40 patrons.
The main reason for this increase is simply down to the fact that while even last season there were two hotels/public bars in the vicinity of the ground, their used to be actually five as we know, both have now closed their doors.
Back to our own match day facility and it has in fact reached the point in the lead up to kick-off that it has become a safety issue due to overcrowding, especially with limited food etc also being served to guests in one corner of the lounge.
In the circumstances the Directors with great reluctance and with no disrespect intended to any visiting supporter as there has been no incidents whatsoever of any note, to at present restrict entry to the lounge prior to kick-off to home supporters, match sponsors, hospitality guests and visiting club officials and FAFC guests only for the remainder of the current season.
We apologise for this decision but it has had to be made in the interests of comfort and safety and will be subject to review if found necessary.
The lounge will continue to open at 12.30p.m.
There is no change to the current after match arrangements.
Again our apologies for the inconvenience this may cause to some away supporters but trust all will understand the reasons.
