TWO of the Scottish Football Association’s top referees will visit Forfar on Tuesday 10 April to have their eyesight checked.
Steven McLean and Matt Northcroft will visit Specsavers opticians in the town ahead of the local derby against Arbroath on Saturday 14 April.
They will be joined by Forfar Athletic players Barry Sellars and Chris Hegarty.
Fans will have the chance to meet the referees for a photo or autograph at the Castle Street store between 10.30am and 11.30am.
McLean, who as well as being an active category one referee is also a recruitment and education manager for the Scottish Football Association, will also be available for questions on how people can train to become a match official.
Specsavers has assisted with the training and development of referees across Scotland since 2002. Specsavers also supports the Scottish FA’s Focus on Football initiative, aimed at promoting the positive aspects of Scottish football as well as building better relationships between players, coaches and match officials.
