Cowdenbeath v Forfar Athletic
[Thursday, 19 April 2012 16:04]
The ‘Loons’ will head to Central Park on Saturday no doubt buoyed by their victory over the ‘Lichties’ on Saturday past.
Steven Tulloch was still on the treatment table on Tuesday past, while of course Iain Campbell misses out through suspension. It will be no easy task for Dick Campbell’s side against the table toppers who lost their first home game of the season two weeks back against Arbroath. Both teams have recorded a win in the three clashes between the sides this season with the opening game of the campaign at Station Park ending in a 2-2 draw.
‘spice’ can only be added to the occasion with Cowdenbeath needing a win to clinch the league title and with the fact that so many of the ‘Loons’ staff and players are Fifers themselves.
Forfar’s remaining two games are at home to Albion Rovers sure to be an even more nail biting ninety minutes than normal if that is possible this season with a trip to Stenhousemuir on the last day of the scheduled campaign.
Rovers whom we currently lead only by a couple of goals at the wrong end of the table have Arbroath as visitors this Saturday. Following their excursion to Station Park, they welcome Stirling Albion to Cliftonhill on May 5th.
The referee for Saturday’s game is first season Grade One official Euan Anderson who will be handling his first Forfar fixture, although he was 4th official at our League Cup tie at Palmerston Park in August.
