JIM WEIR RETURNS TO THE LOONS
[Wednesday, 20 November 2024 20:56]
The Directors of Forfar Athletic are delighted to announce the appointment of Jim Weir to the position of manager.
Jim is expected to meet with the squad at training tomorrow night and he will make his return to the dugout on Saturday for our home tie against Peterhead.
Jim is no stranger to Station Park, having led the Loons between 2017 and 2019.
The former St Johnstone defender first took charge of Forfar Athletic in October 2017, with the club sitting bottom of League One. He steered the team to safety that season, before then securing the club’s highest league finish of recent times, coming runners up in the third tier in the 2018/19 season. Playoff heartbreak thanks to a Kevin Nisbet inspired Raith Rovers team followed, before Jim guided the club out of the group stages of the League Cup for the first time the following season.
A serious car crash in November 2019 caused Jim to step down and take time out of the game, but the boss is now raring to return to the Station Park dugout.
We are certain that Jim will receive a very warm welcome back from all Loons supporters on Saturday, as we look to begin a new era at Station Park.
C’mon the Loons
