Stranraer v Forfar Athletic – Match Information
[Tuesday, 03 December 2024 20:26]
Following on their much improved performance on Saturday past which clinched a place in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup and with it what is almost a local derby with Cove Rangers, the ‘Loons’ return to William Hill League2 action this weekend with the lengthy trip to Stranraer on the ‘menu’.
Just as all connected with the Athies were delighted with the outcome of Saturday’s contest with Stirling Albion, Stranraer will no doubt be hurting at the manner of their extra-time defeat at home to Lowland League side Broxburn Athletic.
Both sides go into Saturday’s contest at the wrong end of the league table, the home side sitting on the twelve point mark, three ahead of their opponents.
Forfar recorded their only home league success of the season to date when Stranraer were the visitors back in late September, 2-1 the final score line.
A reminder to all ‘Loons’ supporters that the visit to Wigtownshire will be followed by two home games in the space of four days. Bonnyrigg Rose are the scheduled visitors to the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park on Saturday 14th December, Peterhead the opponents in our re-arranged fixture on Tuesday the 17th.
We will also have a midweek visit to the Capital City early in the New Year with our scheduled league clash with Spartans at Ainslie Park on the 18th of January now on the ‘back burner’ due to our Scottish Cup fourth round participation.
Back to Saturday and admission prices at Stair Park are as follows;-
Adults £15
Over 65’s £10
5/16 year olds £5
A full preview of the Stranraer fixture will appear on FAFC social media channels on Friday.
