Of The Loons
Forfar Athletic players, officials and supporters will travel to Ochilview tomorrow fervently hoping that we can pick up the one point minimum which will guarantee Second Division football at Station Park next season.
Of course Albion Rovers, minus both palyers red carded at Station Park, have to beat Stirling Albion at Cliftonhill to mean that the scoreline at Ochilview has any relevance as far as the ‘Loons’ position is concerned.
The ‘Loons’ go into the game minus Dale Hilson who begins a two game ban following his unfortunate dismissal last Saturday and with a few injury worries. Physios Duncan Sangster and Donald Ritchie have been hard at work during both training sessions this week treating a handfull of players with Martin Fotheringham and Steven Tulloch the most likely to miss out on selection.
In our hour of need the players received fantastic backing from the terraces last week and hopefully there will be a substantial travelling support in evidence in the lieu of the Ochil Hills tomorrow to give Dick’s charges encouragement.
Forfar triumphed 3-2 on their previous visit to Larbert this season courtesy of a last minute goal, but the ‘Warriors’ who are still very much in the hunt for a play-off spot at the top end of the table have won both Station Park jousts between the clubs, 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.
The match will be refereed by first season grade one official Greg Aitken from Ayrshire who was in charge of our visit to Airdrie in March.
