Second Division Status Secured

Forfar Athletic retained their Second Division status with an excellent 2-1 victory at Ochilview on Saturday.  

The superb all round team effort which secured the victory over Stenhousemuir coupled with results elsewhere saw the ‘Loons’ end up in seventh place in the table leapfrogging neighbours Brechin City who lost 4-2 at Dumbarton.   It was a very positive conclusion to what has been at times a disappointing season.

The Management, Directors and Players would like to put on record their thanks to the wonderful backing that the players received yesterday from a travelling support which was not far short of 150 in numbers.  It was very heartening to see and very much appreciated by all.

The club now move to a new era with the final games on grass at Station Park being played this afternoon with contractors due in shortly to begin work on the installation of the 3G pitch for the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
