Forfar Athletic v Montrose – Match Information
[Tuesday, 24 June 2025 15:53]

‘Loons’ supporters will get their first opportunity on Saturday first to see their team in action on home soil as preparations for the opening Premier Sports Cup tie on July 12th continue at pace with a visit from near neighbours Montrose in a pre-season friendly fixture.
The first and most important piece of information for both sets of supporters is a reminder that the match has a 1.30pm. kick-off.
Jim Weir’s squad got some game time in their legs on Saturday past when they provided the opposition at the well appointed Brownhills Park against Luncarty in Danny Dobie’s testimonial fixture. Home officials and the player himself were delighted by the turnout on a warm summer’s day, with well over 100 plus Forfar fans in attendance. Thanks to all for making the trip to rural Perthshire. Eleven of Jim’s current sixteen man pool of players took part over the ninety minutes with one of two more likely to be back in action this coming weekend.
This weekend’s opponents the ‘Gable Endies’ under the stewardship of Stewart Petrie and Ross Campbell both with strong Station Park connections finished eighth in the third tier last term and are undoubtedly looking to improve on that standing this time round.
